You may also want to consider looking for refurbished vending machines in starting out. Refurbished vending machines are more affordable than brand new machines, they may be second hands, but the most vital parts have already been replaced by brand new parts.

If you are on a tight budget, you may want to consider buying vending machines which are not powered by electricity such as candy machines and sticker machines. They don't cost much and they are certified income generating if placed on the right location. These machines are best in areas where children frequent, such as parks, clinics and malls. But you can always choose the kind of machine that you prefer.

The first thing that you have to look for is the location before deciding what kind of machine to purchase. The reason for this is that location is much harder to find than buying a vending machine. A lot of times, when the vending operator has already bought a machine, it would be hard to place that machine on best locations most especially if the areas already have existing machines.

But, if you don't have the machine yet and you have found the perfect location, you would have the opportunity to know the best machine from that location or the machine that is lacking from that area. Profit sharing is very common in vending business; you may have to share some of your profits to the owner of the location. In that way, they could also gain from your business. Profit sharing is much preferred than renting a space because a fixed monthly rental is hard most especially if you do not know how much the machine would make.

Once you've closed a deal with the business owners or managers, you can now place your machine in that location and start generating income. You just have to maintain your vending machine, keep it clean and stocked all the time. Make sure that you visit it on a regular basis and observe the people who buy from your machine and take time to know what your customer wants. In that way, you'll build rapport with your customers which is very good for your vending business.
