. Truly, there is something liberating about creating your own path in a shiny new SUV or truck and forging ahead in the wild. Okay, so hopping in a big man-made machine might not be your idea of getting in tune with nature. But something can happen to a man when suddenly the road disappears. Rocks, streams, mud, sand, cricks, snow, and ice be damned; the new FJ Cruiser can tackle them all and easily. An even more powerful and fuel-efficient engine, added to this years model of the FJ Cruiser, promises off-road drivers like myself the same powerful functionality with less fuel consumption. And to think, all I had to do was walk into my Staten Island new Toyota dealer to give this baby a test-drive.

According to a recent press release put out by Toyota Canada, "As with the legendary Land Cruisers that inspired it, the Toyota FJ Cruiser has developed an enthusiastic and loyal following of owners who value maximum capability and utility to help realize their adventures - from deep woods camping and back country skiing to navigating the urban jungle," said Warren Orton, Director at Toyota Canada Inc. "This year we've made some great changes under the hood to deliver more power with less fuel required and enhanced suspension and steering. The result: the 2010 FJ is even more capable on the trail, yet equally comfortable to drive on the pavement."

When I visited my Newark new Toyota dealer, I was not to be disappointed. The new FJ Cruiser packs a punch that grips you right off the bat with its classic utility and athletic prowess. But that wasnt all I would find out on my visit to my Staten Island new Toyota dealership; the Cruisers power packs quite the wallop. An upgraded 4.0-liter V6 puts out 259 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. I brought the boys with me to the Newark new Toyota dealer, and the little rascals were equally impressed.
