Staten Island: new Nissan perfect combination of sexy and efficient
Staten Island: new Nissan concept wowed audiences when it debuted earlier this month at the Geneva Auto Show. The vehicle, which Nissan has named the ESFLOW, is a sexy little number of a sports car, but with a Nissan-like twist it's environmental. With the ESFLOW, Nissan offers consumers style and sex appeal, wrapped up in an incredibly efficient package. This elegance and sustainability are the perfect combination for a vehicle looking to succeed in future markets. The ESFLOW is a homerun for Nissan Staten Island residents too!
Exterior: The exterior of the ESFLOW is impressive, to say the least. A vehicle that captures your eye and holds it for a moment of time is something special and the ESFLOW does just that. The vehicle definitely has the overall appeal and shape of a sports car, but is unique in several ways as well. To start, the front hood of the vehicle dominates the balance of the vehicle. A sleek line flows slightly downward, from the windshield to the front grille. This line is flanked by vivaciously rounded curves, thanks to the body of the vehicle covering the two front wheels.
The other half of the vehicle houses the vehicle's interior. A large front windshield slants suddenly back as it rises to meet the roof of the vehicle. The roof then mimics the same sleek, downward flowing line found in the front of the vehicle, as it makes its way to the back bumper. However, most of this line is made up of more windshield, allowing for nearly 360-degrees of exterior views while sitting inside the Nissan. Staten Island residents, thus, will have tremendous views of the city when cruising in the ESFLOW.
The very rear of the vehicle may remind consumers of the Pontiac Crossfire, but it is definitely more shapely and modern than that. Most notably, the vehicle's name is proudly displayed where you'd expect a back bumper to be, set in and flanked by grille-like designs.
Interior: The interior of the ESFLOW concept is probably more likely to change in a production model than the exterior. The display model proudly housed leather/suede upholstery in a gold color, accompanied by boldly dark blue accents. The colors were rumored to be a symbolization of sparks, playing into the theme of efficient, yet still capable of powerful performance. Likely, however, consumers of the ESFLOW may be more pleased with the more traditional black or beige interiors.
The ESFLOW's interior does mimic the exterior's modern feel thanks to form fitting seats and four in-dash LCD display screens, each capable of providing a multitude of different entertainment and navigation information. Lastly, the vehicle has several charging ports that tuck seamlessly away when not being used reminding us that in the future, technology will still be king.
How it works: Little was released about the actual workings of the ESFLOW, but Nissan did share with the public that the vehicle houses two electric motors, which work in conjunction with two lithium-ion batteries. The vehicle has been compared to the Nissan LEAF, benefitting from some technology used in the LEAF. Nissan did keep any critics of the reality of the combination of a sports car and an efficiency car quiet by releasing the fact that the ESFLOW can travel from zero to sixty-two miles-per-hour in under five seconds.
For now, exercising patience is a must for residents of Staten Island. New Nissan concept models sometimes never make it to the production stage, but judging by the positive response to the ESFLOW that has already occurred, I'm predicting that Nissan will proceed to production with this vehicle. However, even if Nissan decides against production of the ESFLOW, we can assume future Nissan production models will incorporate at least some of the appealing features found on the ESFLOW. After all, Nissan would be crazy not to!
