Steppes Schools Help Teach Community Cohesion

The other day I was asked what makes our school program so special and different from others. I have to say that we are already experts in all the countries we feature which enriches the whole schools program. However what makes us phenomenal in the school travel industry is the fact that we can directly help teachers with the community cohesion element of the curriculum. Whichever board you are following, we can offer in the field reinforcement of classroom learning. All of our Steppes Schools trips offer the opportunity for the school which is booking the trip to make contact with another school or community in the country to which they are travelling. This is what makes travel with steppes schools different. In many instances the school that is booking the trip will directly benefit the community they visit as we will make sure that the money paid for accommodation will go directly into the coffers of the community. We can offer your class and school the opportunity to develop lifelong learning skills, teamwork, problem solving and investigation.

In Bolivia for example we are working closely with a project called Alalay which offers street children a home and the opportunity to learn, socialise and become part of society. Annie Syrett is a young girl herself who, whilst on a gap year in Bolivia, found the plight of the street children too hard to ignore. She has now created 2 villages outside of the administrative capital of La Paz in the lowland tropics of Santa Cruz in Bolivia where the children are invited off the street to join a mother and other siblings in a house on the Alalay property. Here these children are loved, fed and educated. Taught to play and have fun, to be children. Hats off to Annie, as she has taken this project on and with the help of her family has built it from scratch. If you book your school on a trip to Bolivia (which already has so much to offer in the subject fields of Geography, history, modern languages and religious studies) Steppes Schools would create a link from the Alalay village to your classroom. We would support you in the process of bringing the trip to life before you travel and allowing everyone to benefit from the experience even those children who are not traveling to Bolivia. We can help everyone stretch and learn to ensure that the trip is brought o to life way before anyone travels.

I get so excited about the prospect of making everyone as keen to travel as we are
