Thousands of Men and Women Are Married but Lonely

Love, romance, glam and glitter while a couple is dating and then the build up to what is supposed to be a couples most important day marriage. The day the couple get married and say "I do" there are great celebrations as the newlywed couple declare everlasting love to each other.

Divorces are common in today's times as opposed to past decades where couple never got divorced even though they were married but lonely. People get married because in most instances think they love each other or get married for the wrong reasons such as their home life is unbearably and they don't get along with their parents and siblings.

All too often you hear someone say I got married too young and as time passed we became two different people. Getting married young becomes a problem later in the marriage as both parties never really had the time to enjoy their lives and do the things they wanted to do and in such cases these marriages are destined for the divorce courts or tragedy whereby one or both parties are married but lonely.

Both men and women stay in the relationship purely because one does not want to hurt the other partner and many try and resolve their differences by visiting marriage councillors which in some instances work and some not. Married but lonely can lead to depression as well as extra martial affairs. And instead of being a married couple the couple literally become roommates.

The first year of marriage is always the most difficult as both parties have got to adjust to sharing everything and getting to know each other's habits etc. Newlywed couples should not plan a family until they have at least being married for two years or more.

It happens to the best of us. Communication is such a fickle thing, and the lines of communication can become blurred every so often, especially when feelings are involved. Even those who think that they are immune to the confusion of conflict can find themselves drawn into a communication breakdown when they least expect it, and chaos ensues.

This happened to a friend on the weekend, and until to be quite honest, it took them by surprise. Even those of us who are better equipped than many others are not immune. A few cutting words from a loved one, hurt feelings, and a defensive retort that left both with regrets. It was a silly argument, over something as simple as a misplaced bottle of soda, the lid off the juice, or newspapers not picked up. But to them, it represented something much deeper that had been simmering away for a couple of weeks until the frustration reached breaking point.
