Letting your puppy to play with your fingers or hands is never a good idea because it may seem cute and acceptable when they are puppy but once they grow up, it will be dangerous. If you strictly want to stop puppy biting during play and other times, then forbid it from the first day you get him. It's easier to prevent such bad behaviors at early stage rather than trying to reprimand it when they grow up and become an adult dog.

1. Yelp and ignore

This method is one of the most effective ways to stop your puppy from biting. They are social animals and they want the company of the human to play with and to feel secure. If you ignore him because of his some nasty habits, then he immediately stops that behavior to get your attention again. So, always yelp loudly and ignore your puppy for a while whenever he starts to bite or nip your hands or feet.

2. Provide toys

Ignoring is the best method, but if you provide some kind of chewing toys to your puppy, then it can be another good thing that you will be doing. As puppies get in the problem of teething, they somehow need something to bite or nip. Giving toys to them will keep them busy chewing their own toys. Also, encourage them while they are involved in that activity.

3. Shake him

If both of the above method doesn't work, this method can be applied. However, be gentle and do it kindly. When your puppy starts biting or nipping, yelp "Ouch" and grasp his loose skin on his neck. Give him a firm scruff and also use the verbal command "No Bite". Release him and get him involved with his toy. Repeat this until he finally learns that you want to stop puppy biting or nipping, to make him an obedient and sociable dog.
