Stress and Exercise Is A Bad Idea!

Stress and Exercise Is A Bad Idea!

Stress and Exercise Is A Bad Idea!

You have been in the gym for hours, achieving very high intensity levels, then the best advice would not be to stop. It should not be a request. It should not be an order even. Begging you to please stop is most suitable, given that you are ruining your own body ignorantly. All the gains of previous training is now going to absolute waste, you immune system is getting lower, your health is getting at risk more and more, your future gains are being threatened and your body building career endangered.

Bodybuilding is a process and not a one-day affair. Too much training in one day does not compensate for greater and faster gains. No, the body must be stimulated for optimal growth and then given time to not only recover, but also build up. Training could resume and then after optimum growth stimulation, be stopped. Exceeding that optimal stimulation is not amplifying gains, but actually decreasing them.

Once a body builder takes intensive training beyond this optimal level, the body switches to a catabolic state. The proteins available in the body are all broken down into respective amino acids in readiness for metabolism. A hormone called cortisol is released to break the proteins down and fast. Cortisol levels increase from every minute a body builder lasts in the gym after reaching the optimal stimulation, and can rise to very abnormal proportions. Immediately after being broken down, all the proteins are routed to the lungs, where they are quickly converted to glucose and supplied to the muscles as energy.

If the protein stores are depleted, then your body moves to breaking down the muscle tissues through the same process, especially when cortisol levels are very high. It took months to build the muscles that you can breakdown within a minute. That's how serious, over training is. By the time you quit, if you persist that is, your body will be so weak and prone to attacks of the flu, cold or any other complication. Worse still, muscle injuries will occur, and given the weakened state they are in, the injuries will be irreparable. If you count the losses that accrue from over training, your training duration would never exceed the optimal stimulation level.

A single hour session is adequate to maximally stimulate growth of new muscles. Anything more becomes negative. Actually, physiologists advise that intensive weight training should last for 45-60 minutes only.

And then when you leave the gym, stop training. The fact is, you can get out of the gym and still continue to train. Remember to give undivided attention and effort to the training session and when you get out of the gym, focus that attention to the many other things in your life. You must establish your priorities and structure them well if you want to succeed in this game. Set goals and keep yourself busy not only in bodybuilding, but also in other areas as family, job, friends, etc. Don't let your mind continually dwell upon the bodybuilding training. Just train hard while in the gym and then relax when outside. Continued stress also prompts an increase of cortisol levels. This hormone is the most dangerous in your body from what we call, a catabolic hormone. So relax and enjoy life outside the gym.
