Struggling To Understand Abandonment Disorder and Borderline Personality?
Have you ever wondered about the grounds and causing factors of the Abandonment Disorder and BPD?
To start with, during our first years of life we depend on our mom & dad and/or caregivers to grand not just our body needs, but also emotional and mental demands. This is the reason why nature has devised that particular relationship between the parents and the child, called attachment.
When this attachment is secure, the child feels secure and protected because his or her wants are granted by his or her loving and caring genitors.
However not all families are like this. In the insecurely attached families children are treated in modes that are callous, repudiating, depreciative, or downright insulting.
Children who are brought-up in such families have to deal with profound and powerful feelings of frustration and abandonment. These children are fearing, timorous, are criticizing themselves, are self-downing, and have low self-confidence.
If the relationship with the caregivers isn't warming up and those core wants are not met, this feeling of desertion will change later in an abandonment disorder specific for borderline personalities.
In short this terror of being left alone asserts that all people will act the same way as one's caregivers did throughout upbringing.
Of course this conclusionis not sustained in reality, however this is the internal reality of the BPD sufferer and one will behave and relate in life accordingly.
Nonetheless, considering that these beliefs are arbitrary and/or learned, they can be changed with new helpful ones.
Therefore the way to implement this is to determine initially the exact thoughts, beliefs, and thinking patterns. This abandonment fear showed up in a relationship, so it will manifest when interacting with others.
One helping tip you would wish to implement is to go back mentally to your childhood and identify the reasons which allowed your parents to comport that way with you. Determine the causes based on what you know about them, their character, work, early years, or their parents.
When you got that, ask yourself why would you accuse yourself when you now have the facts proving that you have in fact nothing to do with it?
And consequently why would you believe that all people will behave the same with you only because your father and mother or dear ones did?
Just answer to these questions and you will surely start to experience things from new perspectives.
And if you want to discover more about what can you do to heal your BPD, I have an ebook I have written for people just like you. And I am giving it away:
