Student Enclaves: Some Reasons for Not Living on Campus

Students are representatives of a unique culture

. Every educated person, that has a diploma, has experienced the effects of being a student and living a college life. Certain rules and guidelines should be followed in order to avoid some misunderstanding from members of the social community. Demonstrations and international conferences are integral parts of student life in college and a part of student culture as well. It is necessary to consider certain aspects of student culture in order to identify the real reasons for some of their actions. For instance, it would be interesting to dwell on the reasons for students not to live on campus.

Reasons not to live on campus:

On-campus rules

The first reason for not living on campus can be a set off strict rules that require from students to follow certain guidelines of communal conduct. In this respect, it is natural that those who cannot follow the rules want to live off campus in order not to be limited by various rules. Noise as well as regular visits of non-students can be an integral part of those students' life that goes against the rules.

Financial superiority

The second reason for living off campus includes various enclaves that are also known as student ghettos'. These territories are inhabited by students and are treated as highly problematic. When a student lives in a student enclave, he/she is sure to pay rent and demonstrate that to all mates. Therefore, it is another way to show financial superiority compared to other students that live on campus.

Inability to live with others

It is natural that some people can fail to cohabit with others due to some health problems or manias that presuppose certain extravagance or weird things. Thus, having roommates is unbearable for such people.
