For instance, a cover with diamond shapes will hold more heat as the air pockets are closer together therefore, having more pockets on the cover whereas a cover with circle shapes won't have as many air pockets because they are further apart. The cover that is needed usually depends on the elements for that area. An area that is very warm during the day may not need a thick cover or one with diamond air pockets as the water will heat up quickly alone with the day temperature. An area that is cooler during the day would need a cover that is thicker and with diamond shaped air pockets so that it heats up the water during the day and holds the warmth. There are many things to consider before buying a swimming pool solar cover(or blanket as it is sometimes referred to), but mostly consider the thickness and air pocket shapes to get the most out of your cover.
