There aren't many popular bike makers in India, and among the very few that are known for their bikes, TVS is among the very that aren't "exactly" known for their bikes. This is the reason not many of the bike fanatics, ever considered TVS as a maker that can come up with any stunning bike. But with the TVS Apache 160 RTR, TVS is all set to change that, and as a matter of fact they pretty much have changed it. The TVS Apache is now of the best selling motorcycles in Indian market, and many of the prominent auto makers have awarded the TVS Apache "Bike of the Year", and I will say a well deserved one.

The TVS Apache 160 RTR is the flagship model of TVS, and contradicting with my belief this bike from TVS caught my attention straightway. To add to it there was the "RTR" technology which is the "Race Throttle Response" incorporated in the bike to enhance the appeal for the bike for the youth oriented Indian bike market, and guess what it worked as well. The engineers who have designed the TVS Apache 160 RTR have made sure that the bike that they are building is capable of giving any bike in the market, a run for its money. The primary rivals for the Apache RTR was Bajaj's Pulsar and Hero Honda's CBZ, and I was more shocked than happy to see that the bike easily overshadowed the two ruling bikes of Indian market.

To be honest as far as the styling and designing of the TVS Apache 160 RTR is concerned, I will say that the looks of the bike are decent, but definitely not "head turning". The tail lights of the Apache RTR are not as good as we've seen in some of the other bikes of its segment and the grip bars for the pillion rider has been adapted from CBZ. But as far as the design of handle bar of the bike is concerned we've to say that the Apache beats its rivals single handedly. The beautiful handlebar where you'll insert the key will always remain in front of your eyes and will give you a great feel about the bike.

The most impressive feature of the TVS Apache 160 RTR is its performance, and if you are thinking it like any other 150cc bike like I did, then you'll be shocked. If truth be told, the Apache RTR is the only bike after the new Hero Honda Karizma and Bajaj Pulsar 220 that gave me adrenaline rush. The acceleration of the bike is superb, and as far as acceleration is concerned, the TVS Apache 160 RTR has the potential to give many of its more powerful rivals a run for their money. Even the handling of the bike is superb and it performs exceedingly well even at high speeds.

So, overall if you want an affordable, yet potent 150cc bike then the TVS Apache 160 RTR clearly is one of the finest you can get at present in Indian market.
