TW Steel Grandeur Diving Chronograph Watches New Model

TW Steel is a 4-year old Dutch based watch brand that sells affordable entry level luxury watches

. "Oversized" watches to be specific. The trend of extra large timepieces seems to have cooled off, and clearly there has been a return to more conservative sizes. However, for people with bigger wrists and for people who prefer this style, companies like TW Steel and U-Boat, continue to cater to them. I have spoken with a few local retailers who carry the TW Steel line, and they made a point of how well they are selling. One of the dealers, Hyde Park Jewelers, has these watches sitting in cases right next to expensive Jaeger-LeCoultre, Rolex, Breitling, Omega and Patek Philippe watches. The other store, Matheu's Fine Watches, has them mixed in with an assortment that consists of more affordable timepieces, such as: TAG Heuer, Victorinox, Tissot, Oris and Raymond Weil. This alone, tells me that TW Steel watches must be selling well, or else these dealers would simply fill their valuable case space with another brand.

The TW Steel Grandeur Diving Chronographs come in both 45mm and 48 mm case sizes. They are available in a number of different dial, strap and case variations. But all Grandeur divers have screw-in caseback , screw-down crown, chronograph, date, unidirectional bezel with 60-minute scale and 100 meter (333 ft) water-resistance. For this review, TW Steel sent a the 18K rose gold plated 316L stainless steel Grandeur watches. Inside, is a battery powered quartz movement made by Miyota (OS25). Chronograph accuracy is 1/20th of a second. The glass is a sapphire layered, reinforced mineral crystal (this prevents scratches and is far better than a standard mineral crystal). The silicon rubber strap has comes with a buckle which matches the case (and features a special anti-dust layer on the silicon rubber strap). A metal band is also available. The straps are screwed in, which provides a stronger connection, as well as making it very easy to swap straps.

The TW 93 (shown above with the black dial - 45mm) and the TW 76 (shown above with the white dial - 48 mm) are two of the more popular models within this collection. And justifiably so, as they look very luxurious and could easily be mistaken for timepieces costing thousands more.
