The other day I was in my office and I needed to send a message to one of my coworkers that worked in the building across the street. I opened up my email then thought to myself. It's close to lunch time, the weather is gorgeous and soon it will be 30 degrees everyday and I won't want to go outside. So I decided to walk over there and deliver the message personally. Your office can turn into your own personal gym. Instead of taking the elevator up to your boss's office take the stairs. In fact take them up and down a couple of times to burn a few extra calories.

If you're at home there are a lot of little everyday things you can do to burn those calories. Yesterday I came home from the office. I sat down at the dinner table had dinner and decided to watch a little tv. But, something came over me and I had the urge to do something that required a little more energy than fixing my eyes on the tv set for a couple of hours. The basketball hoop in the driveway was calling. Before I knew it I was outside shooting hoops. Not everyone is into basketball but there are many other things you can do. Go to the park, play some Frisbee, just do something. You will not burn calories sitting in front of tv with that bag of chips.

There's another thing you can do at one of the most dangerous place for dieters, the grocery store. This place can be, like I said, one of the most dangerous places for dieters, but it can also be a great place. If you're like me, you shop at one of those huge stores that has everything you need from cereal to exercise equipment. Besides purchasing the exercise equipment there you can do some things that will help you in your dieting journey. One of those is take a walk for exercise. A lot of people go to malls in some communities to take walks when it is too cold outside. It's free to get in and there is plenty of room to do laps. But, the grocery store is also a good place to do this. Not to mention it is a good place to see your friends. Everyone has to shop for groceries, don't they?

The other thing you can do in the grocery store is buy healthy snacks instead of junk food. Instead of going for the cookie aisle, visit the fresh fruit section. Fruits will beat cookies in any diet. Oh, yeah. When you're parking your car, park it at the far end of the parking lot instead of driving around for 15 minutes to get the first spot. Then walk to the store. It may seem like a little thing, but every little bit is helpful.

There are little things that you can do to be more healthy. Some people work very hard to avoid exercise, like waiting for an elevator for 5 minutes when you can take the stairs and be there in 1. Taking a walk for exercise is just one of the many things you can do daily to improve your health.
