East Coast Park Singapore is the countrys best kept secret; though it is not really
well known among international travelers, the park has excellent facilities and is a fully equipped resort in its own right. Located on 185 hectares of land with a beautiful sandy beach, a skating lane, barbeque pits, sports and entertainment areas East Coast Park is the Miami of Singapore.
There are numerous attractions to be enjoyed at the East Coast Park; among them is the Goldkist Beach Resort. It has a number of beautifully located beach chalets overlooking the Indian Ocean and offering amazing vistas of the horizon. The East Coast Sea Food Centre is a complex that houses eight different restaurants all specializing in seafood, traditional Singaporean dishes such as Mee Goreng and Chili Crab are favorites while continental dishes such as Fish and Chips are also served. The centre is known for its enjoyable alfresco dining experience with diners being able to spot the brightly lit ships that pass through Singapore Strait while enjoying their meal.
For younger visitors Marine Cove offers a host of trendy cafes, bars and informal restaurants. For thrill seekers the Xtreme Skatepark is a place worth checking out; considered to be the first of its kind in Singapore the park has a 15 km long skating lane, an advanced street course and a variety of bowl courses.
