Talking to Toddlers: Scam or the Real Thing?

If you take a look online, you'd find that Talking to Toddlers is one of the best selling audio courses for parenting today. Created by Chris Thompson, a language expert and certified neuro-linguistic practitioner, the course promises to help parents learn how to deal with their toddlers better and in a stress-free way. Sounds good? Or does it sound too good to be true? Just how effective is this course?

If you take a close look at it, Talking to Toddlers focuses on communication. It says "talking" to toddlers, and not "spanking" or "intimidating" toddlers. This means it will teach parents how to level with their child in order to understand them. We all know that communication is better when there's understanding between each party, and that's what Chris Thompson promises to help with.

Another promise from Chris says this audio course will help parents teach their kids how to be more agreeable. I did a little research about this, and found out that it's actually not impossible. Yes, toddler can be real difficult to deal with. They throw tantrums, whine, etcbut these are all caused by frustration.

Toddlers are not really good with communication yet, which is why they end up getting frustrated when parents don't understand them (and they don't really understand what their parents are trying to say, do they?). If you are great with communicating with your child (which I'm sure someone like Chris, who has a background on language and communication strategies can help with) they wouldn't get frustrated, and there's no more need to resort to tantrums or whining.

If there's one thing that I totally agree with, it's that this course doesn't believe in spanking and hitting as a form of discipline. Actually, the author strongly discourages it. He says these discipline techniques will only make the child think that violence is okay, and might even make them violent when they grow into adulthood.

If you are a parent who's looking for an effective material to help you deal with your toddler, Talking to Toddlers is highly recommended. It's easy to follow, very affordable and is just a great course overall. For a very low price, you can get it in a CD or an MP3 format.
