Sitting rooms are used for entertaining, so you do not want large, garish lights displayed. Instead it is a good idea to choose lights that blend in with the rest of the decor. Standing lamps make excellent task lighting and offer the added bonus of being stylish and attractive. These can work well in both sitting rooms and bedrooms. A bedroom will need good bedside lights for reading and if there is a desk in the room, investing in a good quality table lamp is also worthwhile.
