English cram schools are legally only allowed to hold English classes children in grade 1 and higher. Most classes you take at a school like this will have children aged 8 and up. The older the children get, the fewer stay on and continue with their English education. This means that while younger classes are usually packed with children and you may have many of these, higher level teenager classes usually are fewer and have fewer students. For this reason it would be safe to say that you would be teaching primarily 8 - 12 year old children. Some schools may differ from this and there is definitely a market for adult English in Taiwan, however, if you are coming to Taiwan for the very first time there is a good chance that you will land a job in one of these cram schools which caters to parents and their children.
