I think I must have heard all of the myths about getting a teaching job once you're qualified. "It's a recession-proof industry, they're always looking for teachers". Ha! "If you do well enough at teaching college, you'll be offered a job pretty much instantly". Ha ha! "You'll be able to name your price there's a skills shortage in your subject and they need you more than you need them". Ha ha ha! Yes, I laughed a lot for the first few months of looking for a job. It was that or cry.

Whatever anyone tells you about looking for a teaching job, it is not easy. And when I looked into Teaching Job Interview Secrets, I was a little convinced that the information included in there would be along the lines of the above myths. Boy, was I wrong. This is the first thing I have read which doesn't either patronise or just lie to the reader, but actually offers practical advice which you can use.

I am now employed as a teacher, and I have to say that Mark Fredman is the person I credit with getting me the extra few marks that took me from occasional interviewee to professional teacher. The information included in his book is extremely practical, full of common sense and most of all, it comes from someone who has clearly been there. I am full of gratitude for the push this book gave me.

You have to read the book for yourself to really get the benefit. There is something new on every page that makes you look at how you've been doing things and think "I've been tripping myself up now I know what I need to do and say!". I'll certainly recommend it to friends who are looking for a job. Now I'm an employed teacher I know they'll listen.
