Teaching the dalmatian to sit:
Training course one: Teaching the dalmatian to sit:
Usually start the session at 11 o'clock in the morning. At that time the dalmatian is calm and exited about the new day ahead. His consentration levels is constant and that makes it much more easier to train. Grap a few "doggy treats" and put them in your pocket.
Call the dalmatian dog over and present the word "Sit" to him. After 3 seconds feed him a doggy treat and wait till he responds for another one. Point your finger at him and say the following: "No, sit, then you will get a doggy treat." Stand up and put your hand on the back area of the dalmatian dog's body. Press hard and wait for your dalmatian to kneel and say "Sit" two times. Repeat if needed.
Then feed him another doggy treat. Wait again for 3 seconds until he responses for another doggy treat. Repeat the routine of pressing your hand on the back area of your dalmatian and say the word "Sit" two times slowly.
Repeat if needed. Remember, the golden "Who loves dalmatians rule is to be patient! Now you step back two steps and look him in the eye for about 7 seconds. Tell him to sit in a very serious way, he will probably not respond, so then repeat the session of pressing your hand on the back area of your dalmatian's body and then hold the doggy treat in the air.
Say the word "Sit" two times and press harder, repeat if needed. if he sits, fead him the treat and stroke him on his head telling him things like, "good dog" or "Bravo! Now take a 2 minute breake and call your dalmatian dog over.
Press your hand very hard on the back area of your dalmatian's body and tell him to sit. He will do as you say and then you must feed him not one, but two treats. When going through the day, repeat the "Sit session" once and a while. Your dalmatian dog now knows how to sit. Somedays the dalmatian would get a nasty "nick" in him and does not respond to any of your commands, don's worry, this usually happens when the dalmatian's wants to get self control, just give him a day or to and he will be back to normal again. Congratualations!
