Teenager Alex Southmayd has just released his new book: Brain Snacks for Teens of the Go! 50 Smart Ideas to Turbo-Charge Your Life, the first self-empowerment book for teens by a teen, published by Cognosco Learning. Rather than having to rely on conscientious parents, teenagers can now rely on a fellow 17-year old for advice presented in a nuanced different fashion. In each of his brain snacks/chapters, Alex offers up principles and honest thoughts about important adolescent subjects from acne, and SATS, to managing money and contributing to one's own community.

The author writes with a relaxed, young tone more likely to connect with teens than stern lessons from parents.
