Terrorism-phobia: Not Islam-o-phobia - A Muslim is guilty of Terrorism

Islam-o-phobia is perceived as: A Muslim is guilty as a Terrorist, unless Proved Otherwise! Such perception is exaggeration and wrongly used by Muslims and others

Call it Islam-o-phobia or a form of racism and prejudice, is making the situation very hard to be a Muslim these days if you live in Europe or North America. Phobia as a medical term means an unreasonable sort of fear that can cause avoidance and panic. In general, phobias are a relatively common type of anxiety disorder. Terrorism-phobia is perceived by Muslims as Islam-o-phobia, which is not true. The majority of Muslims live, work, and die in foreign countries, and they are perceived as good citizens. The majority are highly educated and professional. And some have intermarriages with other faiths. If terrorist-phobia, or (Islam-o-phobia ) as in the title of this article becomes legislation (or law), a Muslim have to show that s/he is a Muslim, so citizens will immediately be aware of possible terrorist act or fear of such act. This is the idea behind promoting racism under democratic and human rights slogans in the west. An ugly ID, or trade mark sign for Muslims to wear on their forehead or back of their hands. Thanks to veil women who already have that ID. For showing their identity with no cost for racism and prejudice legislators.

It will be difficult, however, to distinguish Muslims of all shapes and colours who do not use veil, so what the racists are planning to do? They might ask Muslims (through legislation process of democratic practices, like the ones already established against Hijab, Niqab or Burqu) to put a trademark sign to show that they are Muslims, but not terrorists. But if they do that, would people trust them? Would they show tolerance by treating them nicely as well, while media and extreme rightists dogmatic people live in Europe and North America and elsewhere, promote that image? I don't think so.

Converts to Islam in Europe, North America and other locations are found similar in shape, colour, and education to the citizens of any these countries. These converts will be also asked to worry the trademark sign according to the law. But what about Muslim kids, young boys and girls, would that law also, is applied for them to wearing the sign?

If this is the case, Jews have to protest the action. Because it reminds them with the Nazis, where Jews were recognized to have the David Star on their hands or faces So Nazis will be aware of their enemies. A despicable act against humans, happened to be Jews in the past, and will be practiced with Muslims in modern times.

Muslims should not exaggerate the matter. Its a terrorist-phobia not Islam-o-phobia, but the translation and practices of national security laws and regulation understood it as Islam-o-phobia. Such a practice may be applied to all terrorists in any shape or religion or ideology.

It is natural to have disagreement with others, qualities of legislators, and their counterparts, in this case, the Muslims are different in reading, interpreting and perceiving actions. But exaggeration of actions supported by political media generalizing to all Muslims give the Muslims the impression that policies against terrorism are directed only against Muslims. Which I believe is not true. Home security in general is respected slogan anywhere, the perception of it through certain practices prove that all Muslims are terrorists, unless they proved not, which is contrary to law.

From this point on, I prefer to call it terrorist-phobia, to exclude the word Islam or Muslim. I wish the media as well as Muslim activists take this concept from now on, and use it as a replacement of Islam-o-phobia. Because the later concept has closer connection to Crusade concept which makes Muslims and Christians enemies, while terrorist-phobia has nothing to do with Islam or Christianity. Terrorist-phobia, I believe is more applicable to all people, regardless of their religion , race, or nationality.
