Tesol Teachers Open Doors For Students Around The World

Many countries have realized that if they want to continue to be a successful member

of the global community, they will need to make sure that not only has the current group of kids been well educated, but that they have also learned to communicate with others. As a result more and more countries like Russia and South Korea encourage schools to bring in teachers, even if just for a short period of time, who will be able to teach English as a second language.

This has turned into a symbiotic situation. Teachers have started to find it very difficult to find a job in their native positions. A single job opening can have more than fifty applicants. Working as part of the growing community of TESOL teachers makes it possible to collect a paycheck and get some much-needed experience in the classroom. Most teachers consider the fact that TESOL allows them to experience life in different cultures icing on the cake.

While the need for TESOL teachers is currently going strong, there are some people who worry about the overall effectiveness of the program. The biggest question that has been raised is whether or not the countries involved in the program are investing in the best possible language.

While its possible that at some point in the future more people will take an interest in learning Mandarin Chinese, as of right now, English is the best second language a child can learn. Even if the child doesnt grow up and start a profession which requires them to converse on a daily basis with others who speak English, the brilliant minds behind the TESOL teachers program point out that they will have find things like traveling and learning new technology easier than if they hadnt learned how to speak English.

Even students who did not necessarily excel in the TESOL program have found that they were able to pick up enough to the language to allow for easy travel to just about every corner of the world. Their minimal grasp of the English language was strong enough for them to read road signs, order food, and ask for help whenever they needed it. The fact that they knew enough English to enjoy traveling to a foreign country means that the chance of them traveling again in the future increase. This in turn means that global tourism will improve, which should lead to a slow but steady improvement in the global economy.
