Texas Electricity Company -Electric Texas - Announce New Texas Electric Service

A local Texas electricity company -Electric Texas Co.- today announced that it has put together a team of licensed electrician to provide homeowners with electrical safety inspections as part of a new Texas electric service.

Electric Texas Co. cited two recent events as the inspiration for this initiative.

In early 2010, the Electrical Safety Foundation International released a report that indicated 55,000 homes caught fire as a result of electrical issues. In terms of the human cost - over 500 lives were lost and 1400 people were injure. The financial toll was nearly $1.5B.

The Texas electricity company connected this report with a Dallas house fire last summer that resulted in $160,000 in damage and fortunately no casualties. The cause of the fire was traced to faulty circuit breakers in an electrical panel box in the garage.

The Electric Texas Co. revealed that these circuit breakers have been the subject of a study by a team of engineers. In their recently released findings, they concluded that these circuit breakers can overheat and cause fires. The Company is concerned about this issue because there are still over 20 million homes in the US that use them. Virtually every house built from 1970 to 1990 have them.

In the state of Texas, it is likely that 80% of the homes built during the 1960's in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have these faulty circuit breakers. That area was primarily developed by a homebuilding company that used these breakers exclusively.

Electric Texas Co. further acknowledged that older homes are at particular risk because of the wiring and bad sockets that were part of the original construction. Added to this many of the materials used were not as fire-resistant as today's building materials and Texas electricity standards were not anywhere near where they are today.

As a result Electric Texas Co. has put together the HomeSafe Texas Electric Service. The service will be staffed by a team of licensed electricians. The electricians on the HomeSafe Texas Electric Service will perform a thorough electrical inspection. They will obviously pay special attention to the circuit breakers. If they find faulty circuit breakers, they will advise the homeowner and offer to upgrade them.

Electric Texas Co. also announced that it expects that there will be a very strong response and has set up a HomeSafe Texas Electric Service Hotline. The hotline will be staffed 24 hours a day, everyday of the year. This will allow for Texas electricity inspections to be booked after regular hours if needed.

Electric Texas Co. is a Texas based electrical company that has assembled a team of licensed commercial and residential professionals. Members of the team are capable of handling new installations as well as ongoing repairs and maintenance.
