Overvaluing a pair. Most new players will overvalue a simple pair. They have a pair of aces of kings and think this is a good hand. Yes, it is a good hand pre-flop and maybe post-flop, but it's not exactly a surefire bet at the showdown.

Playing too many pots. This is another common newbie mistake. The fact is, you might not get to play a pot every time. Actually, you might not be playing a pot most of the time. If you want good cards you simple have to wait. Don't force it.

Bluffing and not knowing how. This is a classic newbie mistake. They try to bluff but have no idea how and no idea why they are doing anything. This is just asking for trouble. Don't bluff unless you have a plan and know why you are doing what.

As I said before, skill will always prevail. And the only way to get skill is to learn and practice. But there is no use practicing if you are practicing wrong, so for most people is it just learn.

I'm sure you are realizing that you could probably be learning more, at a faster pace, than you are currently now. That's fine, all you gotta do is get back in the saddle and continue to learn more.
