Text Spams And How To Identify Them

Mobile phones are an essential parts of our lives

, with it we can connect with our loved ones, friends, relatives and significant people in our lives. Now, with the mobile phones comes not only the pros, but also the cons. Especially when you start receiving spam texts of promos, discounts and any adverts from companies which is not only annoying, but taking up space on your inbox or others even eat out your balance. Though you wanted them to stop and almost tries all ways in stopping them from texting you, I guess most have replied "STOP", "NO" or even called the company to stop sending you these adverts but to no avail. But it is possible to stop them and minimise these problem spams that you are receiving.

So before these spam texts get to you, you must learn how to identify them. Learn how to deal with these unwanted texts and deal with them accordingly.

1. Spam Text Messages.

These spam text messages are mostly random generated numbers. These include advertising, promotional, and even ambulance chasers, debt write off companies and even PPI claim handlers and more. Some of these texts are not even from real companies.

Identify Spam Messages: When an 11 digit number texts you and the company name is hidden, these are potential spam messages and they are alluring people to reply to them so that they could spam them more. Legit companies will always include the name of their company with the number, you can usually see this in the sender field in the line with the regulations. If you can't see the name of the company then be wary about it. With legit marketing messages, you have an option to tick or untick a box which then will allow these companies to continue or cease sending you messages from third party operators.

2. Legit Marketing Text Messages.

What makes them different from spam texts is that the name of the company can be seen in the contact details. They will also ask for consent for these texts to be sent though this part could be tricky, since often times they will still send you messages disregarding your choice.

Identify Legit Messages: Companies tend to identify themselves either within the contact details or in the body of the text message sent to you. They are following rules in order to avoid themselves to be marked as spam.

3. Premium Text Messages.

Sometimes these services are the ones you have agreed to though unknowingly. This can be quite a hassle for people who don't want these services since they tend to charge automatically to your account. Some companies do this, for instance, you may be unaware that you are already buying a ringtone or that your number is getting charged regularly for the text messages that they are sending.

Identify Premium Messages: Often times premium messages come in four, five or six digit numbers and once you receive their message an amount will be charged to you.

Those are the three types of potential spam messages that you can receive. Most of these messages aren't that helpful and worse, they even take some credit from you for an unwanted message or service. Once you learn how to identify them, whether they are spam or not, you can now deal with them accordingly because if not, you can receive even more spam messages than before. Mobile phones should be free of spam and you have the right to privacy with your number, report these companies which do charge you an unfair amount or those that spam you with unwanted texts.
