Amsterdam for Business Travelers
Because Amsterdam has grown so tremendously in terms of tourism, its no wonder that more and more business ventures are coming along. Along with tourists is a continuous stream of business travelers, going for a more casual meeting to more corporate conventions. Most of the accommodations in the area are also well equipped with different function rooms and adjoining business centers in order to cater to the traveler. There are many quaint settings in Amsterdam too that might be just right for a casual drink with a client or a sit-down with the bosses such as the radar saloon, old buildings beside the river and a theater that has since been turned into a convention area. Restaurants and other eating places can also cater to a large group of people with a wide variety of cuisine to choose from for different nationalities to feel comfortable. So really, in Amsterdam, one can work hard and play hard too, effortlessly at that.
Taking a Road Trip down at Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans is a town with an old world charm featuring many important sights in Dutch history and is quite an easy town to take a day trip in, being only 20 minutes away from Amsterdam proper. Here you find many charming trivialities that are telltale signs of the 17th century village that it was such as a cheese factory, a clog workshop and several working windmills, two of which allow visitors in, to provide a great picturesque view of their skyline. The latter gives out free cheese samples for passing travelers. Getting there from Amsterdam is easy as you can just take a train going to Koog Zaandjik which takes one to the heart of the town, then its just a 10 minute hike going to Zaanse Schans, or one can also bike going there. Zaanse Schans is best conquered on a one-day escapade but if one insists in staying there, the only available accommodation is at the Hotel Sans Pareil. The Museum Zaans is another must-visit as it encapsulates the history of the whole village from its factories to its local customs.
