The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Solar Energy

Compared with the fossil fuels like coal, petroleum, natural gas and so on, solar energy has the following obvious advantages:
1.Widespread: The sunshine exists everywhere, whether the land or ocean, the hill or island. Besides, the
solar energy can develop and apply directly.
2.Innocuousness: the developing and applying of energy will not pollute the environment. In nowadays, the pollution is more and more seriously, the innocuousness is very important.
3.Abundance. Solar energy is regarded as the largest energy that can develop on earth.
4.Permanently. According to the appearing rate of nuclear energy. The solar energy can maintain for about 10 billion years.
Though solar energy has a lot of advantages, it also has some disadvantages.
1.Dispersibility. Though there is a large amount of solar radiation reaching the earths surface, the energy destiny is low. Consequently, during using solar energy, if you want to get definite transition power, you should have a set of collection and transition equipment with a large cost.
2.Instability. As a result of limitations of natural conditions like day and night, season, geographic latitude and influence of weather, at a certain ground, solar irradiance is discontinuous and very unstable. Therefore, it is difficult to apply solar energy in a large scale
3.Low efficiency and high cost. At present, to the development level of application of
solar energy , the theory part is viable and the technology is mature. However, some solar energy application equipment has low efficiency and high cost. All in all, the economy cannot compete with normal energy.
As for solar energy utilization in economic issues, we should consider two factors:
1.More and more countries realize that a sustainable develop society should meets the requirement of society and cannot harm descendants. So choose clear energy as possible as we can is the basic principle of energy development. With the transformation of energy type, the storage of normal energy will be reduce and the price will rise up, besides, we must invest more to control environment pollution.
2.China is the biggest country of production and consumption of coal. The coal has been the main source of air pollution. Developing new energy and
new energy sources is the most important way to reduce environment pollution. However, the energy problem exists in world, so developing new energy is important to whole world.
