The BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) era is a worldwide phenomenon that has been increasingly improving productivity among workers and cutting costs among employers.

According to Ricardo Guimares Filho, programming analyst at Venki Technologies, this benefits the companies as much as the employees. As companies jump on the BYOD bandwagon they won't have to worry about how much it takes to buy devices and to upgrade all this technology, since every employee will use his own device and can update it whenever he sees fit. Even though there are mutual benefits for companies and workers, businesses face two major challenges brought along by the BYOD era: they have to be adaptive, and to secure the access to information. Thus, companies are looking for the best way to incorporate this new practice and to work using systems that are compatible with said devices. To companies, the biggest challenge of the age of BYOD is adapting. If employees bring their devices, they need to be able to actually use them and so the company has to offer this access. The systems used by companies ought to be prepared for this usage as they must also bear security in mind, Ricardo comments.

The new processes portal from Venki Technologies is a solution that allows for a much easier adaption towards BYOD, and guarantees data safety when it is accessed through mobile devices, as it creates a single access point that can be reached from inside or outside of the company. An important thing to mention is that the solution presented by the new portal is adaptable and responsive, that is, it will cater for specific device needs and can be used simultaneously in up to three different modules: Smartphone, Tablet and Classic. Other than that, the application is a web app and so all the information stays in the cloud and not in the user's device, completely securing them, preventing leaks or data mishandling by the inappropriate people, the analyst explains.
