So, England have won the Second Test in Adelaide in emphatic fashion by an innings and 71 runs to go 1-0 up in the series with three matches to play.

Sensational batting from England's top order batsmen coupled with tight fielding and aggressive, attacking bowling proved to be the key catalysts in Australia's downfall.

The continuing form of opener Alastair Cook and the return to form of talisman Kevin Pietersen could not have been timed better, leaving Aussie captain Ricky Ponting with a huge task on his hands to revitalise his team ready for the next Test on Wednesday 16th December at the Wacca ground in Perth.
