The Benefits Of Educational Technology On Student Performance

In the 21st century teachers are learning the benefits of using more advanced teaching

methodologies for training students, such as Dell whiteboards, brand computers. The main aim of this is to gain the attention of students during classes, improve their retention rate and ultimately to boost their performance during classes and examinations. These teaching methodologies are referred as educational technology. For example, Dell educational technology and instructional devices are used for preschool and higher education level students for learning.

According to research performed by the various foundations, here are some of the effects of using technology to teach students:

On an average basis, those students who used technology products, like computers, for learning scored in the 64th percentile on tests, whereas those students who did not used technology scored in the 50th percentile.

The use of technology in the class room meant more retention for less amount time spent learning.

So what exactly makes educational technology effective as a means of training students? Well, this method of training simply bridges the gap between students and teachers, by turning the classroom into a fun place where students want to be. Some children may also have learning disabilities, which may impede their ability to concentrate and retain information during classes. This technology is designed to help students focus most of their attention on the teacher and the material being taught.

Some of the more common technologies used by schools to train students include:

1. Computers: students can be able to type up their notes during class, reducing the amount of paperwork they need to carry around. Beyond learning, this will provide them with life skills that they can later use in their careers.

2. Interactive whiteboards: These are visual displays connected to a computer, through which teachers and students and interact with. The applications for this piece of equipment are numerous, such as video tutorials, pictures, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

3. Projectors: If used properly, they can turn a classroom into a fun and engaging place for students. Its main advantage is that it tends to be low cost, as compared to the other two.

School administrators and teachers should develop a plan on how to introduce technology in your classroom, before implementing it. They should also evaluate the hardware and software used and make sure it supports the school curriculum. All in all, the benefits of educational technology are tremendous and should be implemented by schools for improved student performance.
