The Blackberry 91205 Pearl 3g Is An Impressive New Handset

, the Blackberry 9105 Pearl 3G provides users with a spec list that suggests unrivalled functionality. This means the handset looks ideal for those who are seeking an effective functionality tool rather than a fashion statement.

The TFT screen provides the capability to display up to 256K colours within its pixel resolution of 360x400. This provides an excellent level of clarity and detail within the on screen imagery. A touch sensitive optical trackpad is provided as a means of navigating the Blackberry operating system.

Vibration and ringing alert users to incoming text messages and voice calls. The ability to assign MP3 files as ringtones allows users to customise their phone in order to hear their favourite song every time the phone rings. A 3.5 mm audio Jack and a speakerphone system provides the means to communicate handsfree. Dedicated music keys provide short cuts to the media player so music can be controlled with ease.

Measuring 108x50x13.3mm, the 9105 Pearl 3G is certainly a pocket friendly handset, especially given its light weight of 93.6 g which means it is a comfortable phone to hold and use on the move.

As with most Blackberries a number of different connectivity features are utilised so optimal connectivity is maintained whatever the location. Wi-Fi Technology provides a super fast Internet connection wherever a local wireless Internet router is emitting a signal. This allows users to surf the web at broadband speeds. In areas covered by 3G, HSDPA provides Internet access at speeds of up to 3.6 mega bytes per second (along with an HSUPA connection). Class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE provide the handset with its primary method of cellular network connectivity.

A document editor which is compatible with a number of Microsoft Office documents, and an organiser both provide useful productivity tools for business users when out of the office, and a versatile media player is provided to keep music fans entertained along with a selection of pre-installed games (along with access to a library of downloadable games). Blackberry maps functions thanks to GPS with A-GPS support.

A 3.15 mega pixel camera is provided for taking good quality still images and recording video. The inclusion of features such as Autofocus and LED flash make the task of taking photos relatively simple.

Internal memory is 256 MB as standard, which allows storage for a good number of files such as music tracks, video clips or photos. A micro SD slot is also provided which has a pre-installed 2 GB memory card, although this can be expanded to up to 32 GB providing adequate storage for the needs of most users. The internal phonebook provide room for a seemingly endless number of entries and fields and includes the ever popular Photocall function. This allows a photo to be assigned to a particular contact, and this is then displayed on the screen whenever that person is in contact.
