The Businessman Who Visited Lanzarote 69 Times In 20 Years
Lanzarote is known for its fiery history, shaped by the volcanoes permeating through
the Island it has a rugged and distinct beauty that is not entirely to everyone's taste, rather a marmite style phenomena, you love it or hate it.
One man that is clearly thoroughly in love with the place is the businessman Eric Wilson, who over the past twenty years has taken sixty nine trips to the Island. Having found a perfect holiday recipe he chooses not to change a single ingredient, staying at the same hotel and bathing on the same white beaches every time.
Eric, the consummate sun disciple, fell in love with these shores over twenty years ago in 1990, since then he has consistently flown to these isles four times a year.
Some may wonder whether Eric would ever change his ever perpetual holiday, in fact he has even wondered as much himself, Every time I come home I think, 'this is the last time', then I book again.He said
Somehow the place holds a special appeal, the landscapes, the beaches the people have been a constant draw since he first set foot on these lands twenty years ago.
Lanzarote was an unintentional find for the businessman who first flew here after walking in to an estate agent and asking for 'somewhere sunny', years later the sun still shines and Eric is still taking in its rays by the beach.
Though it is more than just the beaches and the weather that have been bringing him back so many times, it is also the unique lands here, born of lava flow and brimstone. "I looked over the volcano park and I thought I'd landed on the moon, it's amazing. I also love the blue windy sea, beaches, day trips, weather and lovely people."
Now Eric seems very much part of the fixtures of his favorite hotel, observing as it changes, the addition of new characters in to the scene, the way some have grown and blossomed. When he visited for the third time this year the hotel organized him a surprise dinner, and he may very well feel part of the family there. "I've so many friends there, I've seen 11 hotel directors come and go and I've seen waitresses have children and watched them grow up."
Now it seems that Eric has spent over 50,000 on his stays in Lanzarote, and he has no plans to buy a second home there.
It is not just Mr. Williams that the Island attracts, Lanzarote has long since been a favorite with travelers around the globe, who flock here for the omnipresent sunshine, the crystalline oceans, the white sand beaches and the staggering sights.
The tourism industry is the most vital part of the Lanzarote economy, propping the Island as much remains barren due to the volcano, for an authentic taste of life here Lanzarote Villas allow tourists to relax and take their holiday at their own pace.
