Costa Teguise is one of the most popular resorts in the Canary Islands with pretty much everything you could want from a typical beach break

. However for those looking for more than just beaches and sunshine, the resorts packed social calendar ensures that there is always something happening during your stay. If you are planning a holiday to Costa Teguise, make sure you check out exactly what is going on whilst you are there.

Kicking off the social events is the Teguise Carnival on March 1st; the carnival is one of the oldest customs on the island and offers visitors a valuable insight into Teguise's history and culture. With street floats, parades, music and dancing the carnival is themed on the 'Danza de los Diabletes' (Dance of the Little Devils). May brings the Day of the Cross, a religious ceremony that is especially popular with local residents; during this period crosses covered with white flowers are carried through the town. Another May festivity is Canary Week, a folklore festival that lasts for a full week. During this festival the streets come to life with performances and parties, those looking to find out more about the local customs of Costa Teguise will definitely appreciate this carnival.

Heading into the summer months the resort keeps up its party atmosphere. June sees both the Corpus Christi Procession and the Nuestra Senora Del Carmen. Towards the end of the month the San Felipe y Santiago takes place in the Teguise village of Tahiche, this is another traditional celebration which involves floats, folk musicians and religious events including offerings to the apostle saint. August brings the Festivities of the Virgin of Las Nieves, a religious pilgrimage from Teguise to the church dedicated to Las Nieves. The pilgrimage is accompanied by local music performers and dancers that entertain the thousands of local and foreign tourists that arrive for the procession.

The end of the year brings the famous Christmas festivities to the resort, along with craft markets and food stalls December also sees a midnight church service known as 'Miso del Gallo'. The service is one of the oldest customs in Costa Teguise and visitors can watch traditional songs and dances being performed in front of a model of the infant Jesus.
