The Curve 3g Looks Almost Identical To The Previous Curve 8520

Blackberry are in the process of releasing there new pocket friendly messaging smartphone; the Blackberry Curve 3G

. As mentioned in the name it is quite obvious the phone is supported by 3G, Blackberry have also loaded it with Wi Fi and GPS. The device is quipped to handle Blackberrys famous messaging service along with basic text messaging and e-mail. Blackberry have also packed in a digital camera, media player and integrated organiser.

The Curve 3G looks almost identical to the previous Curve 8520, the main aesthetic difference is the chrome finish as apposed the matte look, the excellent QWERTY keyboard has been re-used and the same 320 x 240 LCD display has been used too; it is still a little grainy but you still get a wide screen view point and customizable font sizing. The optical track pad is super sensitive and proves to be a useful navigational tool; just as good as a touch screen in my opinion, the track pad has been accompanied by a selection of multi media pressure keys which represent you call, end return and main menu functions.

The Blackberry 5 OS runs very smoothly and will happily handle the more strenuous activities like multi tasking and web browsing. The Curve 3G is noticeably quicker than previous Blackberry phones which will be welcome news for passionate Blackberry users. Yes, the web browser is still pretty pour, but the Curve does have 3G network coverage which delivers faster loading speeds and a much better mobile social networking experience, this will benefit Facebook geeks no end.

Where media is concerned the phone will quite happily bang out your music library with a 3.5mm headphone jack in place for you to use your own headphones, multiple video formats will load up quite nicely and playback is very smooth. The mobile YouTube site will run effortlessly and you can upload videos of your own with ease, sharing isnt restricted to just YouTube, you can also upload your media to your social networks. There have been few tweaks to the camera system on the Curve 3G; the 2MP lens restricts your photographic capabilities down to the basics and there is still no flash, but the digital set up will still allow you to take reasonably good photos and record ok videos.

The messaging experience on the Blackberry Curve 3G is no less than brilliant; the device has been calibrated to handle online communications via 3G, this means a choice of IM accounts can be used, e-mail accounts can be setup with all the popular providers like Hotmail and Gmail compatible, business users can take advantage of Exchange and we are still missing out the Blackberry Messenger which has evolved into a very popular form of mobile communication across the world. The brilliant backlit QWERTY keyboard makes for a rich messaging experience; the keys are individually set and thought they are small they are well spaced for improved typing accuracy.

The new and improved Blackberry Curve 3G is rich in smartphone features and can look forward to further improvements with the promise of a Blackberry 6 upgrade in the near future. The mid-range price tag and unique chrome trimming will draw some attention and with the addition of 3G which will benefit social networkers, the Curve 3G will no doubt gain some fans.
