The 2 most popular types (not models) of electronic cigarettes are the 3 part electronic cigarette and the 2 part electronic cigarette. The 3 part electronic cigarette is composed of a battery, an atomizer (heating element) and a cartridge, which contains the Nicotine Solution. The 2 part electronic cigarette is composed of a battery and a cartomizer (disposable atomizer). The cartomizer is a combination of an atomizer and cartridge in one. Many of the 3 part electronic cigarette cartridges only have enough puffs to equal 7 - 10 cigarettes. Some brands will claim that their 3 part electronic cigarette cartridges are worth 20 cigarettes (a pack of cigarettes), but we have found this claim to be false for many of these cartridges. On the other hand, the 2 part electronic cigarette cartomizers normally do give you enough puffs for 20 cigarettes.

So what does this mean and why is this important? If you are a pack a day smoker, thenwith the 3 part electronic cigarette you would have to carry 3 cartridges (because each cartrige averages 7 cigarettes), but with the 2 part electronic cigarette, you would only need 1 cartomizer. This becomes important, because it is less to carry. Most smokers don't want to go from having to carry a cigarette pack to having to carry a box of other things, such as cartridges and batteries. They want a battery and refill (cartridge or cartomizer) that will last most of the day.
