The Differences Between X And Y Sperm And How This Affects Your Baby's Gender
Most people know that there are some differences between the sperm chromosomes that will produce a girl and those that will produce a boy baby. However, many don't know exactly what these differences are or how you can use them to your advantage to help you conceive the gender that you want. I will explain the different characteristics and how these effect whether you conceive a girl or a boy in the following article.
The Differences In The Sperm Chromosomes Lies With The Man Or The Father To Be: Many people already realize this, but I'm going to say it anyway. The woman always contributes an X chromosome to the process. This does not change. It's the man who contributes both the X and Y. So, considering that the mom to be will always have an X, you will either get XX (which would produce a girl) or XY (which would produce a son.)
The Major Differences In The X and Y Chromosomes: The most noticeable and important difference between the two is longevity. Like in real life, the girls live longer than the boys. X sperm can last for days longer than Y sperm can. Also, the Y sperm is more vulnerable to changes in environment or obstacles that it will need to overcome. If you're only looking at strength and longevity, then the X or the girl sperm wins out on this one.
However, in terms of speed, then the Y is the clear winner hands down. The X sperm are the slower of the two. And I believe that this is nature's way of ensuring that things, and the amount of boys and girls in the population, are roughly equal. Because if the Y sperm had both strength and speed, this would be an unfair advantage. But if the X sperm had both, then we'd obviously have many more girls than boys. Each has it's strengths and weaknesses to ensure that things are mostly balanced.
How You Can Use These Differences To Influence Your Baby's Gender: Just because the result of these differences is that mostly equal amounts of boys and girls conceived, this doesn't mean that there is nothing that you can do to tweak the process. If you want to conceive a girl, you can certainly capitalize on the Y sperm's short life span. And, if you want to conceive a boy, you can certainly take advantage of the X sperm's slow speed.
There are a couple of things that you may want to look at. The first is timing. For a girl baby, you want to give the Y sperm a long time frame that they won't be able to hang around for. So, you want to conceive early, meaning before ovulation. The opposite is true if you want a boy. You want to make it so the sperm does not need to wait for the egg even for a second. Every second counts for you. So, you will want to wait until ovulation has already happened.
Because the Y sperm are so vulnerable to the environment around them, you'll want to tweak your PH so that it is as high as it can be if you are trying for a daughter. But, if you want a son, then you want to tweak your PH to where it is a very low one. This can be done through the foods you eat or through the douches that you use, or both.
Finally, the sexual intercourse positions that you use play a small part also. It's said that shallow penetration favors the X's because it gives the Y's further to go.
