In that case, get together some black curtains that can be quickly drawn across the walls when needed. Also, the walls must have some level of sound-proofing. This is very important.

2) Flooring:

Quiet and easy-to-clean surfaces would be ideal. If your floor are already tiled, you can bring in a dark-colored carpet as those used in the cinema halls. This not only adds a warm element to the room but also helps muffle sound when people move around the room. Also, darker shades are easier to manage as they help camouflage stains and dirt.

3) Lighting Fixtures:

Make full use of different types of lights to create a distinct aura in your home theatre room. Dim lights or indirect lights in different neon colors will help you to add an element of surrealism to the space. You could also opt for recessed lighting, which refers to small lights placed in circular cavities in the ceiling. Complement the ceiling lights with wall fixtures for added lighting.

4) Furniture:

You will also have to pay attention to the right kind of furniture for the home theatre room. It cannot be your usual tables and chairs. You have to put special theatre seats, which are normally high-backed, reclining, cushioned chairs. Leather or suede are preferred materials for the chairs. You can get the chairs in some uncommon color to add some style. Different colors could be burgundy or forest green as against a typical black or brown. You could also have a plush sofa set or two or more recliner-style chairs with a couple of bean bags.

5) Accessories:

To make the space look more fun, accessorize it with movie-related souvenirs. From movie posters to DVDs and music records or even instruments. For an art-house effect, you could also create a quirky memory wall in the room, like framed pictures of your favorite actors and musicians.
