E-mail is a way of communication through an exchange of messages in digital form
. It literally means electronic mail. The systems that support e-mails work by storing and forwarding the messages for the users who created them. Many people wonder about the answer to the question, when was email first used.
1. The first answer to the question, when was email first used is when ARPANET company developed it. The company started proposing the use of email in 1973. There was an email made after that year and it looked quite the same to the one we are using these days.
2. The second answer to the question, when was email first used is when ARPANET got converted to Internet in the eighties. It became the foundation of the email service we are using today.
3. The third answer to the question, when was email first used is when Ray Tomlinson of Arpanet first used it in 1971 by using the @ sign as a way of separating the name of the user and the machine. He sent the message from one DEC computer to another. DEC is the abbreviation for Digital Equipment Corporation. This new feature encouraged people to use the innovative ways of sharing information. Basically email began in the sixties as a method for many users to access information and communicates with one another. In 1966 Sage also created a system similar to the one created by MIT. Their creation allowed one company to communicate with another company from a different place as long as they have the same systems.
5. The fifth answer as to when email was first used was when Arpanet influenced other providers to make their unique protocols and formats in writing the address.
