The Future Of Online Bingo

In a very short amount of time, online bingo has already come a considerable way

. Given this there has been speculation about where it is headed. People are trying to anticipate what direction it is going to move in. What are going to be the next trends and big things? It is hard to know with any certainty what the answer to this question is. For the moment, one can only speculate.

One thing that people have been saying is that there is going to be a consolidation of sites; that there aren't enough people to satisfy all of the sites which are out there. Such being the case, there will be fewer sites which in turns means they will be able to offer bigger prize pools. While this might be a sound idea in theory, the practice is that people are always going to want to launch new sites which they feel are bigger and better. They will also want to capitalize on the new technologies as they become available.

Speaking of technology, people are always curious to know what the new things will be. There is talk of a kind of virtual reality kind of game. The player will don a headset where it looks like the game is happening in front of them. They see someone pick the balls and then they are called out. One then marks off the numbers on the virtual card in front of the player.

There is also talk that there are bound to be more organized tournaments. There are plans to have some sort of world championships where people will win the right to represent their country. From there they will compete in the international championships. While there has been enthusiasm regarding this idea, many aspects of it need to be resolved. First of all, what will be the qualification criteria within which one gains selection to represent one's country?

Will it be available on a range of sites or will a new one be launched just for it? If it is the latter, who will be behind it? What kind of bingo is it going to be? Will men and women compete separately or will they be all together? So there are numerous things which have to be sorted out until this idea truly gets off the ground.

Another idea which has had trouble getting off the ground is the establishment of some sort of tour. This would run along similar lines to the World Poker Tour; a regular circuit whereby players can compete in online bingo. Again they have had trouble finalising the details of this. Because of this interest in the idea has cooled.

Maybe these issues and others will be resolved once some sort of global governing body takes control. It would have the authority to look into and fix these types of issues. It would be the person behind the wheel. Ironically it isn't in place yet because of the difficulties in trying to get some sort of consensus regarding it.
