A goal is an extensive statement of what you wish to accomplish. Goals are broad, general, intangible, and abstract. A goal is really about the final impact or outcome that you wish to bring about. A goal is only as good as the objectives that go with it. The objective represents a step toward accomplishing a goal. An objective is narrow, precise, tangible, and concrete and can be measured.

S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym for five characteristics that help you set well-defined goals. S stands for specific; M stands for measurable; A stands for achievable; R stands for relevant; and T stands for time-based. It's a simple tool used by businesses to go beyond the realm of fuzzy goal-setting into an actionable plan for results.

S is for specific. This simply means that you have to know precisely what you hope to achieve. The moment you focus on a goal, your goal becomes a magnet, pulling you and your resources toward it. The more focused your energies, the more power you generate. M is for measurable. Numbers are an essential part of business. Put concrete numbers in your goals to know if you're on track. A is for achievable. Goals that are impossible to achieve can never bring you lasting satisfaction or success. Therefore set goals that have a high probability of achieving. R is for relevant, therefore set goals that are relevant. This will help prevent unnecessary frustration as you attempt to reach the standard you've set for yourself. T is for time-based. This is to make sure that you can reach your goal, by setting a deadline.

Objectives should therefore be looked into carefully and at the same time should give considerations to smart goals side. So that everything will work perfectly well and organized.
