Another of its attractions worthy of attention is a monument dedicated to Ayyippilla and Ayyanappilla Asan who were local poets during the 15th century.

The calm, azure waters of the Arabian Sea and its cooling breezes add to the scenic value of the region while rendering the beach an ideal place for adventurous water activities. Swimming, para-cycling and para-gliding are among the popular water sports at Lighthouse Beach. It also provides opportunities to observe local fishermen building catamarans as well as sailing in them. Known as Kettumaran, these simple boats are made by tying five logs together.
