Neckties or just ties..

Neckties or just ties... What is it that makes them so incredibly fascinating and a beloved accessory?! The immense diversity of materials, patterns and even forms is one of the main reasons a man cannot go without a necktie. Lately, it does not matter if one wants to be formal or casual - a necktie is always the right choice. They can even be matched with sports shoes and jeans to make a perfectly arranged modern style that originates from the punk revolution and rebelling ages of the past century.

One of the best factors of the neckties is their diversity. Everything is customizable when it comes to these objects. It does not matter if it's the colour, the fabric, the patterns or even added smaller accents. Usually, their colour and size is chosen depending on the occasion and it has been so ever since the 17th century when the Croatian mercenaries aroused the curiosity of the French people in Paris by wearing their neckerchiefs knotted. This is the main reason why people started calling these accessories "Cravats". An interesting fact is that in English the word is used for a specific type of neckwear that has more in common with the neckerchiefs of the Croatians of that time, while in most other languages it s absolutely equal to "necktie."

After the period of the original discovery of the so-called "cravats" in France, in the next century "Neckclothitatnia" came up as a book which was all about tying your cravat. It showed different styles and types of knots, allowing the readers to actually choose from the many possible ways of wearing their accessories. This book was also the origin of the term "tie" in the meaning of a neck garment. Afterwards, there was a tiny slowing down of the otherwise rapid development. It ended with the apparition of the scarf in the early years of the 19th century. It was born as another version of the tie where instead of knotting people used a special ring to catch the neckwear with in order to make it stable.

In the next few decades even more forms and types of neckwear appeared - bow ties, different bandanas and the ascot tie. The early 20th century gave birth to the idea of patterned ties as well as to ones with different prints. Within a few years such colourful and sometimes even shocking ties became widely spread and loved by most men and even their girls.

It was just the perfect timing for something different, because it was just then when the people were in a great need of something different, something that can say that they are still alive even after the world war and are still there to brighten the Earth.

So, what does make a necktie so special? Many would argue with the that this is the most versatile and useful invention in the field of men's fashion. However, there are hardly any other male accessories that have lived as long as this one. Moreover, they have become so popular that even women love to wear them. It is just the fact that it had appeared suddenly and, even though suffering a lot of transformations, it has continued to serve us as one of the best and most suiting accessories no matter what the event we are preparing for is.
