The HTC Desire Black is an Android 2.1 (Eclair) handset supported by HTC Sense to

present an easy to use experience through powerful hardware capabilities such as its 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 576 megabytes random access memory (RAM). Meanwhile it also enables endless options for new widgets and applications to be added to the phone, along with easy tailoring of the home screen for fast navigation.

The handset also features an impressive autofocus camera with flash and face detection. The 5 megapixel resolution helps to offer a sharper image, with a windscreen capture feature making it possible to take and enjoy photos in 16:9 ratio. As with videos and other multimedia, this is better enjoyed on the Desire through its 3.7 inch AMOLED display.

The Music application allows music to be easily found and added to the phone, and can be enjoyed through either the standard jack plug (35mm) or wirelessly through the stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) connection available. Other connections include micro-USB and further sharing is possible through a range of supported profiles and protocols including FTP and OOP for file sharing via the internet.

The phone provides Friend Stream application which manages all social networking in one place, for quick and easy updating and responses to friends. This is further supported by integrated Facebook and Twitter applications, Twittering is made easier still by the inclusion of HTC Peep for Tweets.

The Desire has an internal GPS antenna and digital compass which support the geotagging of photos captured, along with easy navigation provide by the HTC Footprints application, and integrated Google Maps.

The handset also has some special features when people call. When the handset is picked up as the ringer is ringing (for incoming calls or alarm clock alerts), it automatically lowers the ringtone volume. In addition to this should the user place the phone screen-side down the ringer is muted altogether, making it easier than ever to choose to ignore calls that dont wish to be answered. The phone also has an impressive data back-up feature, which automatically stores Wi-Fi passwords, SMS and MMS message and webpage bookmarks onto the inserted microSD card which is expandable up to 32 gigabytes of memory.
