Having a battery operated lamp in the house answers the call for a light source when there is none available

. People are used to having light when they work, even at night. So, the gas light was invented to do away with the candles. Eventually, man became more innovative by inventing electricity and eventually, the battery. The batteries further evolved into rechargeable types that depended on electricity to recharge.

It would be very surprising if one gets into a house or home and find out that there is no battery operated lamp to be found. If one is curious, a flashlight is one type of lamp, only it is a hand held type.

When there are storm signals issued with blackout warnings, the highest commodities sold are usually the essentials: toilet paper, and batteries. Need I say more?

When electricity was first invented, people could not wait to get rid of their gas operated lamps. However, they soon realized that when there was no power, they still needed to have a light source and reverted to the fuel lamps. The invention of the battery was in response to have a light source other than electricity and fuel. For one thing, it was found to be much safer.

There are critics who dislike the rechargeable lamp which is battery operated because of the style and the dangers they pose. Well the style doesn't really matter to the ordinary consumer; the light is what is important. The danger really comes in when the batteries are not disposed of or recharged properly. It really depends on the common sense of the consumer on deciding the necessities of life. There are several types or models of battery operated lamp equipment. Some have batteries that are throw away, some rechargeable. The throw away may be more convenient in times when there is no electricity as they do not depend on electricity to recharge. However, the rechargeable ones also have longer life. Either way, both are cheap sources of light that can be bought in any store all over the world.
