Lake Superior offers a great atmosphere in its clean, freshwater depths for swimming and nature watching. If stargazing is your thing, Mount Wrightson Wilderness, Arizona, is a one-of-a-kind spot. The bare summit lets you experience the Milky Way and beyond without any distractions. If you're looking to mix in plenty of lazing around with your action-packed adventure, you'll love the many islands and campsites of Hawaii.
