Recently released in March 2010, the LG GS500 Cookie Plus is the latest addition to the popular and successful Cookie range by LG

. Offering a great list of features along with aesthetically pleasing design, the success of the range looks set to continue.

The LG GS500 Cookie Plus measures 107x52.5x11.5mm and weighs just 92.5 grams. It is a pleasure to use on the move thanks to its light weight and slimline profile. The appearance is uncluttered with just three round buttons at the base of the touch screen. Its corners are slightly rounded adding to the comfort levels and usability.

Up to 1000 entries can be stored in the internal phonebook which also includes the popular photocall feature. This allows a photo to be assigned to a contact and this is then displayed every time that contact calls. 30 MB of internal memory is provided with the Cookie Plus. In order to gain more storage for data such as music tracks or video clips, the micro SD slot can be utilised, simply by installing a memory card of up to 8 GB.

The TFT resistive touch screen measures 3 inches. It offers superb quality of screen display thanks to the pixel layout of 240x400 displaying up to 256,000 colours. Other features of the screen are an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate along with handwriting recognition.

To connect to the internet and cellular networks, the LG Cookie Plus relies on several connectivity methods. In order to stay connected to cellular networks, the initial means of connectivity is GPRS & EDGE (both of which are class 12 versions). HSDPA offers connection to the internet at speeds of up to 3.6 Megabytes per second, in areas covered by 3G. In order to connect to other devices such as compatible handsets and computers, both Bluetooth and USB connectivity is also provided.

The built in digital camera boasts 3.15 Megapixels (2048x1536 pixel resolution), so high quality still photographs can be taken. An alternative method of image capture is via the ability to shoot video in QVGA quality at a frame rate of 12 per second.

FaceBook integration is sure to impress fans of social networking. The internal media player supports a variety of different formats of both music and video files. An organiser, document viewer, voice memo and T9 all add to the everyday functionality of the LG GS500 Cookie Plus.

Available in a range of colours, the LG Cookie Plus is sure to appeal to the style conscious mobile phone user as well as those who are attracted to its functionality.
