The Law of Attraction - How to Be Open to It

When people start trying to use the Law of Attraction to manifest their desires, they often wonder, "How will I know if it's working? Does it happen suddenly, all in a flash, or is this a gradual thing? How will I know if there's something that I'm supposed to do, - some action I'm supposed to take?"

The answer is yes, there is a way to be open to the activity of the Law of Attraction in your life, and that is - impulses.

First of all, let me make this absolutely clear. I am not suggesting you follow impulses to do harm in any way, shape, or form. In fact, any such impulses on your part would be a sign of emotions that you have suppressed over an extended period of time.

If, on the whole, we learned to acknowledge our impulses we would be far less repressed as a society; and it is repression that leads to violence.

Our impulses have been given to us for a reason. They are like an inner directional guidance system that, if followed, will take us step by step to where we want to go.

Let me give you an example.

You are a bookkeeper. You have been working with the Law of Attraction to help you find a different job, something that lets you spend more your time outdoors instead of stuck in an office cubicle. But it's unlikely. Your education and training were all towards becoming a bookkeeper.

Awhile back, some strange impulse convinced you it would be a good idea to always keep some extra c.v.'s in your car, where they would be handy. You have also applied for a number of other jobs, but most of them would be pretty much the same...working in a small cubicle in an office.

It's Friday and the workday is over. You want to get home as fast as possible so you can at least try and enjoy your weekend. You are just about to come up to the street you have to turn onto, when you get an impulse, an unbidden thought that says, "Go further...keep driving."

You follow the impulse. After a few more streets you notice something unusual has happened. A small crowd of people are watching as canopies are put up over the stalls for a new farmers' market that is opening.

Once again, following your impulse, you pull in alongside the curb and it happens to be in front of a small but permanent building that is obviously the administrative hub of the new farmers' market. Outside is a short list of 'Employees Wanted'. One of the full-time positions they need to fill is that of a bookkeeper/inventory taker.

I realize that this is a condensed version of how it works, but impulses really are the way the Law of Attraction operates. It will provide you with the necessary impulses, as long as you are open to receiving and acting on them.
