However, whilst this may be apparent, there are actually several benefits to developing leaflets this way, with the primary reason being the cost implication.

It is not hidden information that to print five hundred leaflets on good quality, glossy paper, it will cost in excess of one hundred pounds, without including any design work. There may be some room for negotiation, especially if the leaflet design and printing is carried out by the same company, but a hundred pounds is a reasonable and realistic figure for this amount of printing.

If printing a leaflet design onto a similar quality paper at home, though, whilst it may take a lot longer, the price will be much more affordable and reasonable and can be minimal if large quantities of paper and ink are available to utilize.

One of the more complex parts to creating leaflets in-house is ensuring that the leaflet design is of a sufficient quality and looks professional enough to distribute to customers. A lot more difficult to create than most people would first believe, professional leaflet design is something that can take a lot of research, along with trial and error attempts, to create properly and is the reason why a lot of people turn to professional designers.

With this in mind, however, if time is not particularly important and deadlines are flexible, there is no reason why the vast amounts of free leaflet design tutorials that are available online cannot be utilized. Chances are that once researched and a leaflet is designed, it will not be of the same quality of a designer who has several years experience, but it will be of a standard that would be acceptable to print and distribute to customers.

Although it may be the second best option for many, creating leaflets in-house brings with it several benefits. Especially if you need to develop leaflets and are on a strict budget, by designing and printing them without hiring a professional company, you can guarantee that the costs will be negligible and if enough research is carried out, the results will be of a very respectable and satisfying quality.
