The Man's Skincare Daily Ritual
From the time that they hit puberty until they come to the end of their life
, men are sentenced to perform the task of shaving. While some people only have to perform this ritual every other day or so there are many men that have to clean away the stubble that appears on their face each morning. Because healthy hair follicles are constantly growing the more a man shaves the more need he has to keep himself looking respectable. While some individuals choose to tackle their stubble each morning with a quick pass of an electric razor, the more refined gentleman prefers to use the traditional method of cleaning his face with a razor blade and shaving cream.
By taking the time to enjoy a close clean shave, many men are actually helping to moisturize their skin and keep it smooth to the touch. While men are rugged and tough, shaving can provide them with a calming time in the morning that refreshes and revitalizes their skin. By taking the time to enjoy the morning ritual men have discovered that shaving does not have be a chore to be performed, but a way to treat themselves with dignity and respect. Using razor blades instead of an electric shaver is better for the skin and allows the pores to open up with the application of hot water and foaming cream. With the use of multiple razors, blades that gently lift and then cut the facial hair, it is possible to have a closer shave than with an electric device.
In preparation for the wet shave, it is customary to wait until after showering to help the hot water to open the pores. By also splashing hot water on the face before applying a coating of shaving cream the skin is more susceptible to the blade that cuts the hair. In barber shops it is customary to see a hot towel used on the face prior to shaving. Once the pores are opened it is time to cover up the beard with shaving cream. While some men just put the foamy substance directly into their hands and rub it onto their face, the traditional method is to use a shaving brush to stimulate the hair and help raise it up to be cut by the razor blades.
Once the ritual is complete more water is splashed onto the face to rinse away the remnants of cream leftover and a bracing aftershave lotion can be applied to leave the skin soft and smooth. For some men the ritual of shaving is an experience that is meant to be enjoyed as the time spent shaving is about the details and not about how fast someone can run a razor across the surface of their face.
