The cold hard facts of this industry are pretty harsh. The average paycheck is about $10 per week, the average career span is about 3 months, the average success rate is about 3%. So, what is it that the other 97% does not get? It starts with learning. The main thing that the 3% who succeed are getting right is the training. If you want to get ahead in MLM, it will only happen if you get marketing training on some proven techniques and strategies. Only when you know how to do something well, can you really enjoy doing it. The best way to enjoy what you are doing is to learn enough to be good at it.Marketing training is the overlooked, or misunderstood, step in most network marketer's career. Those "old school" methods are not what I am talking about. Those methods are the reason for the 2 to 3 month careers. It is really a vicious circle, the short careers are one reason for those methods being taught and those methods are the reason most people quit. Those "old school" methods , quite honestly, are not even remotely close to MARKETING. What they do is allow the "old school" sponsors to build their business off of other people's list. When they instruct you to quickly make a list of everyone you have a phone number for, or can get one, and then to quickly call all of them before someone else beats you to it, they are playing the numbers. They know that you may be able to sign up 3 to 5 people for every hundred you can call. They know that those people can do the same and if they help everyone they can in this way, there is a good chance that they will get 2 or 3 real network marketers out of every hundred that you and your friends can sign up. This is the numbers game and it can work for some people. But, in reality, our industry gets a bad name because there are so many people out there that fail. This type of marketing leads to so much rejection that, it is no wonder, very few people who try it can find success.The simple solution and the main secret for success in this industry is proper marketing training. The training to work on is, how to build a list of the proper target prospects, how to build a relationship, or gain trust, with those on the list, and how to monetize that list, then how to recruit, for your MLM business, off of that list. If you do it right, you will have too many names to handle without an auto-responder service. An auto-responder is a service that collects your prospects info and places them on whatever list you set up. Then it will follow up with your prospects with prewritten and prescheduled email messages for you and you control everything about it. You control all of the messages and the dates of delivery and which products and services that you promote to your people. You can educate the people and broadcast, to all or part of them, any message you want to send to them, whether it is a new product that can help them in their business or you just want to wish them well.If you get training on how to position yourself online where you can be found by people who are searching for business opportunities, solutions for their struggling business, or tools that can automate their efforts, can find you and leave their contact info, that is how you build a list that you can monetize and recruit from. If you educate them and give them solutions for their business, you will gain their trust. Then you can set up affiliate programs with the sites that you use to help you in your business and send out the links for those sites and earn commissions from those who want to use them too. People do business with those that they like and trust. If you learn enough to be able to generate 20 to 40 leads per day online, that is something you can teach. When you teach others the skills you have learned, they will like and trust you. Doesn't it just make sense to collect names for your list on the Internet where the supply is unlimited, help those on your list and build trust with them, help them find helpful sites and strategies for building their business, and then recruit, for your business, off of that list? Almost every profession out there requires you to get some training and to learn proper techniques. This industry is no different. If you are going to be successful in MLM, network marketing, direct sales, affiliate marketing, or any online business you must understand one main thing. All of these businesses have to do with SALES. NONE of them will work without it. If you are going to succeed in any "sales" business, you will need to learn MARKETING. Where would McDonalds or NIKE be without marketing? Could you make a better hamburger than McDonalds? Of course you could! But, nobody can outsell them because of their marketing plan! That just proves this point. Your product doesn't matter as much as your marketing plan. A mediocre product with a killer marketing plan will ALWAYS outsell a killer product with a mediocre marketing plan.
